There is a growing consensus that the assault on our country from within our country accelerated with Obama's second term. Here he is on March 26, 2012, immediately before that term:

Obama wasn't just talking about Russia when he spoke of his upcoming greater "flexibility."

Not a chance of turning California, unless the team colors are switched back to associate red with communism.

But they may pack up and move Sillycon valley to Texas, leaving the DEI personnel dross with the rest of the home- and shift-less.

I’ve probably listened to 5 interviews of Andreesen and I learn something every time. Most recent was a really good one with Peter Robinson. The Democrats have been taken over by a mix of gangsters (Pelosi, Clinton) and communists (Obama). Not sure how that fever breaks but it will have to or this turmoil and strife in Blue states will continue indefinitely.

And yet it took him til 2023 to fully wake up. And he still considers himself a democrat.

What I'd like to hear Mr. Andreeson say is, 'basically all of corporate America turned on the American people. And we owe them a Yuuuuge apology. We were dupes with a yellow streak running down our backs.' That'd be nice.

"I'm a good person" that comment around CEOs goals resonates with me. I think that explains so much of so many CEOs fool hardy move towards DEI and other fads of the day. Many of the tech CEOs and similar large Company CEOs have made more money than they ever dreamed of. Now that is accomplished, "I'm a good person" starts to take over from making themselves and their Company more money.

Define “good person” in a shame based rather then guilt based way and it makes sense. You aren’t asking “what makes me a good person”. Your outsourcing that question to the nytimes and Harvard and accepting the results regardless of thier content.

I'm a bit more cynical. I believe they wanted to look like a good person. Their move towards DEI was more virtue signaling on steroids - but then it got away from them a bit and it became difficult to roll back. However, if they were making enough $$ they could tolerate it.

I'm even more cynical than that. I think they were enjoying the Kool-Aid until they realized it was spiked with cyanide.
