I do not want to see the Trump Administration ease the pressure on Harvard, Columbia and the other fake citadels of learning. Not for an instant. They are sites for infecting young people with the most destructive mind viruses.
Can we also jettison the "socialist" label for Mamdani? He is a Communist.
You have only listen to his references to the "working class" for the giveaway. We don't have a "working class" here in the US. That is a lot of Marxist claptrap. People young and old, rich, not-so-rich and poor, all WORK.
And I shed no tears for Wall Street's fear. They have been funding leftist Democrats for years so I hope they enjoy their just desserts. Dimon seems to be the only one who has a shred of political common sense.
And AOC as the standard-bearer? As the great John McEnroe once said, "You cannot be serious!"
There's an alternate explanation for the results of the NYC DNC mayoral primary. Andrew Cuomo is quite repugnant. Cuomo's COVID policies killed many thousands of NY seniors. Cuomo left office in disgrace, in part due to unwanted 'advances'. It's quite possible that NY'ers are simply giving a big middle finger to the NY Democrat party establishment, who keeps serving up turds such as Andrew.
I believe that Current NYC Mayor Eric Adams, running as an independent, will win in the general election, and the primary vote should be considered mostly a 'protest' vote. Time will test this theory.
As for AOC, bring it on. I'd love to have her explain to Iowa farmers how great socialism is.
I don't know enough about NY City to make a judgement about the possibility of Adams winning. I hope you are right. If not, New Yorkers are even more insane than I have always thought.
LA and Chicago already have communist mayors, and the results aren't pretty. Eric Adams has a rare chance to slay the Dem dragon that turned on him, if he can only seize it.
Seems like the Demonrats are getting exactly what they want from the Universities. So, no, they wil never abandon the universities. On the contrary, like the 1 million per month illegal aliens that need to be deported to save the country, the universities need to be thoroughly purged of communist subversion. It’s not that they’re winning, it’s that they’ve already won. A meaningful counterattack hasnt even begun in earmest yet.
So almost 20 years after Harvard canceled Larry Summers, he's deciding to speak out about left wing radicals? I'm so tired of these deathbed conversions after years of staying silent as woke radicals first captured higher ed and then many other commanding heights of our society. Larry is just another Bill Ackman, who couldn't give an f* during the 2010s, continuing to fund liberal-to far left causes, only to wake up after Harvard Yard was no longer safe for his tribe.
NYC is 12% Jewish. Now is their chance to make a stand against the insane wokery. Publicly organize An Anyone But Zo effort and put their wealth behind this.
Jews broke +30 for Harris last year. (Polls range is +26 to +38). Do they really think Harris would have green-lighted last Saturday's MOP-up exercise, culminating a successful 2 weeks of Israel pummeling Iran's ability to sew chaos throughout the world.
Stop tweeting and start organizing for Republicans.
p.s. Zo owns TicTok - which can be legally shut down at any moment. Hmmm... a several monthsdisruption is just the type of tactic Nixon's Dirty Tricksters might propose.
I am sure that a McGovern-like landslide for any Republican presidential candidate is completely off the table. I am certain that AOC would get CA, OR, WA, CO, IL, NY, NJ, MA, MD, DE, VT, CT, RI, and VA. She might even get a few more states, like NH, NM, and MN. That wouldn't give AOC the election, but it surely is not a McGovern-like loss for her. McGovern got only MA and DC for a total of 17 electoral votes.
And I ought to know about McGovern. I was one of the few fools who voted for him. In my defense, I was young and impressionable. By the time Reagan came along, he got my vote twice.
I had a friend in college who was a big McGovern supporter. I know he cried the day he lost. Unfortunately for him, he did not wise up, he eventually committed suicide. Chasing windmills is apparently not great exercise for living a long and healthy life. May he RIP - truly.
I did not see one bullet point in the above Mamdani goals insert above that was not a design for the complete destruction of New York and wanna be America. Not a single assist, ultimately, for the dupes for whom it is designed (ultimately nobody wins.) That 'we' have allowed such rot to infiltrate our country is mind boggling. A win for Mamdani would be one further step for New York to effectively become perhaps a greater failed state than the once beautiful, but now failed state of California. (Do you still live there, Steven? ;-)
I suspect its "suffer some McGovern-scale landslide defeats to reckon with their reckless "progressive" base". And more than once. If the Democrats have good or OK elections in 26,28 they'll keep doing the same thing.
I agree. Democrats need to spend several Presidential and Congressional election cycles in the political wilderness before they understand the truth that: doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results is the definition of insanity. My former party is currently insane—has been for decades. I live in Utah, which is effectively a one-party state. Has been for decades. Politicians need principled opponents to keep attentive to their constituents—and to keep them honest. Which is why I held on to voting for Jim Matheson (D) over and over again I had bailed on the Presidential side when Reagan ran. Took a little longer on the State offices and my Congressman. Then I watched Congressional Democrats who, having sat through the same intelligence briefings as their Republican colleagues, and had overwhelmingly voted to support the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, turn on George H.W. Bush over the lack of Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear weapons in Iraq. Claimed the President lied. All for perceived, yet ultimately ephemeral, political advantage. I was furious! Never, ever again, would I trust a Democrat politician—at least not under our current cultural and political circumstances!
It's one thing to reject the culture of your forebears. It is a other thing entirely to embrace a culture diametrically opposed to everything your culture espoused. It is understandable to pursue freedom rather than slavery, but to embrace slavery (submission to Allah) rather than classical liberal freedoms is inexplicable. Only the educated class could rationalize that choice.
Found my way over from Powerline after the purge. I hope the Dems keep pushing people just like this. Average Americans see the threat these people are.
The new NYC demographic favors radical loons, the perfect products of our universities. Many of the old Democrat stalwarts have fled the scene already.

He is repugnant on many levels but he is not islamist repugnant. Perhaps the Dems have opened the door for a second Adams term. I am not hopeful.
I agree. A lot of people voted against the repugnant Cuomo.
There have been politicians that when I see them running the 1st thing that comes to mind is WHY? Why is This Person Running?
"I believe that Current NYC Mayor Eric Adams, running as an independent, will win in the general election,"
I suspect you are correct. And given who the Republicans are running (as much I like Curtis) Eric Adams is the best hope.
I don't know enough about NY City to make a judgement about the possibility of Adams winning. I hope you are right. If not, New Yorkers are even more insane than I have always thought.

These days, Socialist=Communist=Jihadi. That's the reality.

EXactly!
Maybe we'll have an opportunity to evaluate the quality of socialist (and inexperienced) governance. What could go wrong?

This is how the world ends…not with a bang, but with a whimper.

"Will Democrats Turn on Universities?" Do you think Democrats are sexy enough to turn on a university?
