In Trump's interview with Miranda Devine he said success breeds confidence, which in turn liberates him from worrying about resentful naysayers. It takes a strong individual to suffer those slings and arrows, especially when they threaten to jail him. His persecution fuels his purpose; he does not doubt. Nor should he.
One underappreciated aspect of the Iran operation is the absence of leaks from the Trump Administration. They've known about the Israeli strikes for a while. President Trump runs the tightest ship we've seen in decades.
It certainly helps him that most every journo-list is pushing for some kind of negative spin on anything Trump says or does. Makes it easy to figure out how to play them.
I understand Israel was facing an existential threat if Iran obtained a nuclear weapon, and they have initiated this attack in response to that threat.
But there were 1.7 million 'gottaways' who have infiltrated our country during Biden's term. If just 0.01% of those are affiliated with the Iranian regime, there would be 170 potential terrorists who could be activated in response to these attacks.
I still plan to attend the June 14th Army Celebration Day, but its going to feel a lot more like the fall of 2001 than last week when I made my plans.
The best bet for nuclear will probably be the massive power needs of scaling AI. I say the more the better—and nuclear is probably the best way forward.
Steve, please enlighten us on when Trump chickened out on tariffs. He didn't.
They are being used very successfully as a negotiating tool. This TACO nonsense is just that...nonsense. To call this president "chicken" in any way is absurd.
On the one hand, Trump has shown a boldness, impatience, and creativity that I am not aware of being present in any other POTUS. He doesn’t accept any conventional wisdom as a given, including all the insistence that “[x]think tank has had [y]intractable problem figured out for a decade or 3 but no one will listen”, though if it makes sense to him he’ll do it.
I think his pragmatism and penchant for deal making makes him fairly unique as a force. Hard to imagine someone would maneuver as well as he has and also eschew being ushered into the blob group think.
Trump bashers like to mock the idea he’s a “genius” using “art of the deal” to play “3D chess” as if any of that needs is a prerequisite to be better than the others by being creative, having maximal optionality, and knowing a good deal from a bad one.
Steve seems to imply that they are Democrats screaming about Trump. That does appear to be the case, but I have trouble believing it's actually true. I mean, Democrats' mouths are usually open wider than that when they are on one of their frequent anti-Trump rants.

Steve wrote (twice) about the importance of events being hard to "understate," but I think he means "overstate." Too much midnight sun?
Correct. Between the excessive sunlight and the aquavit, up is down, night is day, and understate is overstate, etc.
Lay off the Black Death! It's called that for a reason. . . .
Anti-discrimination laws for all. So simple even KBJ gets it.

Keep your eyes peeled.

What is the picture of?
Good question. Looks like something between modern art and the missing link.
I believe those are Wolffish drying in the sun, eventually to be made into Lutefisk. I could be wrong, and trust Mr. Hayward will correct me if I am.

Looks Like More Wins!
So much information in this newsletter. But what the heck are those fish hanging in the picture? Inquiring minds want to know.
You didn’t even scratch the surface of what Israel accomplished last night. Here one link on x. Follow this guy to find more of the story. https://x.com/osint613/status/1933478650948546780?s=46
I’ve read 100 recapitulations already. Steve hit the nail on the head, major change.
