The Democrat Party is the party of slavery, secession, segregation, the KKK, Jim Crow, the Trail of Tears, Japanese internment - and now socialism and anti-Semitism. Let me be blunt. It should have been abolished in 1865. Is there any excuse for its continued existence?

I believe it was on Commentary where I heard it said that the link between communism/socialism and antisemitism was a deliberate project of the USSR during the Cold War. I can’t remember the reason, but seemed out of alliance with the middle eastern countries opposed to the US.

Territorially it makes sense and of course the pogrom and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion originate in Russia.

Theres definitely a very deep link between Marxism and radical Islam. Hence “Gays for Palestine”. It seems to have a variety of motivations, with the keystone aspects in common being their rejection of Jesus as God, and a shared totalitarian mindset, and willingness to kill (or at least encourage others) for their ideological “principles.”

Yes western Marxists will die if they get their way. Vice versa isn’t possible. Western Marxists show no self preservation instincts, and in fact move in the opposite direction.

I think, to simplify, Russia wanted to win over the Arab states during the Cold War and the easiest way to do this was to oppose Israel and help vilify and attack it. This also became more pronounced once Israel won the wars of 67/73 and became a full-fledged powerful capitalist democracy aligned w the USA, thus making it an official enemy, and this time period also coincides with the Soviets turning on their own Jews, who became the scapegoats (again) for all the failures of Soviet govt. The Left hates Jews because Jews put the lie to the idea that oppressed minorities can't succeed without their help and because the stubborn existence of Jews stands in the way of their dreams of universalist socialism.

The "Zionism is Racism" campaign is the last black bitter fruit of the Evil Empire, who could never build or create successfully but who were masters at hateful propaganda.

It seems hardly a day passes that the dems don't find themselves sinking deeper into their own self made quick sand. And watching James Carville go apoplectic over it makes it all the more entertaining to watch. I never thought life could be so good. I'm old enough to remember when being thought to be anti-Semitic was a death knell to most any politician. Now the democrats fully own it. I say, good for them.

"Strip Ilhan Omar, Rashiha Tlaib, and other anti-Semites of their committee assignments, and deny them financial resources for their re-election campaigns."

The fact that these chowderheads are a) in Congress, and b) feel absolutely free or even encouraged to spew evil out of their cakeholes is evidence that anti-Semitism is much more broadly in place than is generally acknowledged.

Our universities are launching anti-Semites into the culture at a frightening clip, fresh out of their university-subsidized student union lounges, where only some are allowed to enter and certain others permanently "discouraged" from peeking in.

The worst part of all of this is that we do it to ourselves, and others, through electing these types of morons and allowing the funding of the NGOs to propagate hatred throughout our culture.

San Fran Nan had the opportunity to take the execrable Omar down when there was a vote to censure her for anti Semitism and Jew hate. She watered it down to condemn hate in general which was really no condemnation at all.

Ilhan Omar should be deported for immigration fraud because she married her brother so he could stay in the country. It would be fascinating to see how she would fare back in her Somali homeland.

Why was no mention made of the fact that many young Jews voice condemnation of Israel for defending itself, thus supporting anti-Jewish sentiment?

As a Jew, it has become challenging for me to respect and thus associate with fellow Jews who constantly make political choices that seem very much against their own best interest. It just feels like complete self-hatred. It is inexplicable.

Please read the last sentence of my first reply to your comment. I have read many attempted explanations for why Jews constantly vote liberal or even socialist with regularity. This is a flagrant act of sleeping with the enemy. The fact that the left supports Islamists such as Hamas while Jews support the left is evidence. Hamas doesn't care about a Jew's political affiliations. If the Jew is still alive, it's not a good Jew.

I see your sadness but I believe there always is an explanation for human conduct, although the explanation is often distasteful and angering. HOPE is sometimes our only solace, except the belief in a loving God, not Allah for sure.

There have been no greater Jew-haters than Jews themselves, all mostly Left intellectuals, from Marx to Trotsky and Rosa Luxemburg up to our time with Chomsky, Greenwald, Norm Finkelstein, Noami Klein etc etc.

Marxism/Leftism has always had a strong pull for people born Jews who want to escape the stigma and burden of being a hated minority, and the "explanation for human conduct" here is that there is no better way to show your disassociation from a group by denouncing and attacking them. The goal also is to escape the particular predicament of Jewishness by campaigning for some form of universalism along the lines of Marxist-Lennonism (lol).

Here's something interesting I read that I think helps explain this:

Interesting article, CP, but it didn't make me feel that I could now, after reading, understand why Jews are so dominantly left in their political orientation. Is Islam essentially socialist? It certainly looks totalitarian. Maybe it is socialist.

Yes, I agree that anti-Semitism is flourishing mainly in the Democratic Party. Even so, if we are to believe polls and surveys, Jews still vote mostly for Democrats, which is difficult to understand.

The anti-Semitism among Democrats is bound to get much worse in the future. I wonder if Jews will ever catch on that they are voting for people who hate them.

The Jews are the "niggers of the world" Every group needs someone to hate, an "other". The Jews were almost from the beginning that group. Chosen People indeed. We chose you to be the bad guys of history.

In the way back when just about every religion had multiple gods and goddesses. The Jews came along and only prayed to one God. What a bunch of weirdos. And worse of all successful weirdos. Escaped Egypt, formed their own state and did well.

At least until various, more powerful groups came along. Still they survived, even as the more powerful groups didn't and succumbed to other newer more powerful groups. The Jews just hung in there. Pretty good for a bunch of weirdo's only praying to one God. Somethings not right here....

Now the Romans' didn't care. As long as you payed your taxes, (the 2nd most important thing) gave lip service to the Roman god and didn't talk trash about the emperor or rebellion (the first most important thing) they more or less left you alone. Violate one of those, the Romans went, well, Roman on you. And no one wanted that.

But guess what. The Jews even outlasted the Romans. Pretty good for a bunch of monotheist weirdos who only prayed to one God.

The successors to the Roman's decided to adopt the monotheism thing, sort of, but not really. I mean there is God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost and a bunch of Saints so not really monotheists, but close enough.

Now the Jews weren't just a bunch of weirdos but rivals. Uh-Oh. Can't have that. No more pay your taxes, give lip service to our gods, who was now kind of the same God and don't talk trash about the emperor (aka The Pope). So another round of Kill the Jew or if not that at least exile them, after stealing their money.

And SOB, the Jews survived again, and prospered. This was getting frustrating.

It came back once in a while. You lose a war, who can you blame your Army? No but there is a bunch of of weirdo's. The stock market crashes and there is a depression, why? Well there is this bunch of weirdo's

In the meantime there were other groups to hate or at least look down on, Blacks (niggers), the Irish (Micks) Indians (Redskins) (The Subcontinental ones (Wogs) , South American, North American, didn't matter) Asians, Chinks, Slopes something or other, fillintheblank Arabs, Sand niggers, (that went away with the need for oil) The Jews were able to get a respite. When you look down on a lot of people it thins out and becomes diluted. The Jew hate never really went away, kind of just got watered down for a bit.

Well you can't do that, any of that anymore. One by one the other groups got adopted into the fold, more or less. So who is left that everyone can agree to hate. Including previous groups that were hated? Just as you need someone to love you need someone to feel superior too. Maybe a whole group you can feel superior too. hmmmm must be some group still around.

Well there is still this bunch of old time weirdos that have been around for a while.

Tag you're it.

Unfortunately I think you need to dumb down this debate. Drop the term 'anti-Semite' and just call the people who advocate for the River to the Sea position racist. Use it over and over again. Ruthlessly point out their neo-Nazi ideology and how many Arabs aligned with the Germans during WW II.

Maybe it will stick. Younger people might begin to understand anti-semitic viewpoints are racist viewpoints. Has anyone ever polled the under 30 crowd to find out if they even understand the term anti-semitic?

Worst case it garbles the use of the "r" word and diminishes its impact when Dems historically attacked Republican presidents like Reagan and Trump by calling them racist.
