So you can have an opt-out as long as you don't use it…
This is what happens when universities offered "gender studies" as a degree and then graduates expect jobs! So let's invent a revenue stream for them, and higher Ed....

I would be interested if any convincing research exists that shows social media or other communication channels were active in the 2000s and the frequency of providing "gender affirming care" to minors or adults from 1995 to 2010.
The hockey stick begins around 1987 and is well established by 2000 - which suggests something was underway before the Internet was a phenomena and definitely prior to youth accessible social media platforms were prominent. My first recollection of any trans discussion involving schools dates to around 2012 - 2014, when someone at a dinner party mentioned a memo came from their middle school that referenced pronouns. Chuckles all around before our drinks were refreshed.
So perhaps this is just another phenomena of the chronic disease epidemic, like autism or teen obesity, which all began to accelerate in the late 1980s and 1990s.
