Podcast Powertime
Plus the Week in Headlines, and etc.
Both Ricochet and the 3WHH are back up and going this week. First on Ricochet James, Charlie Cooke and I tour the foreign policy world with Gen. H.R. McMaster, including whether will will take out the Maduro regime in Venezuela; also the boat strikes; UAVs and the fight in Eastern Europe; the Department of War and our readiness. Plus, the fellas defend cultural confidence, brave the Great Feminization, and name the most horrifying flick they’ve seen. Happy Halloween!

And then . . . the Three Whisky Happy Hour. This episode was a man down as John was unavailable, so Lucretia and I soldiered on without his ritual abuse of our superior taste in political philosophy, prudence, and natural law. And in the best fashion of Helen Andrews, I ran the episode even though it was Lucretia’s turn on the host rotation calendar. We could have called this episode “Revenge of the Manosphere.”
Lucretia and I consider a few news headlines, and some major stories conspicuously not making headlines* (such as the House investigation of the White House conspiracy to cover up Joe Biden’s senility), who Bill Kristol supports in the NY City mayor’s race (you’ll never guess), whether the climate cult is over, and alarm bells about rising anti-Israel sentiment among young conservatives. (We recorded before the Kevin Roberts video went live, however.)
And then we arrive at the main topic of the day: Lucretia defending herself against charges of “lookism.” I enlisted an expert witness: the great Taki Theodoracopulos, who wrote way back in 1981 that American women were the ugliest in the world. Seems like the perfect topic for the week when the world discovered the Jennifer Welch, the Democrats’ newest It-Girl. (And naturally, the exit music this week is “Ugly Women,” by country musician Grant Langston.)
* Yes, that sentence is a sly reference to a light bulb joke: How many Straussians does it take to change a light bulb? None: the light is made conspicuous by its absence. (IYKYK, otherwise you don’t get Plato.)

Don’t forget, we do try to livestream our episodes, which we know is difficult since we don’t record at a regular time, but if you like to see instead of just listen, here it is (and don’t forget you can sign up for notices on our YouTube page):
And now, what (some of you) have been waiting for—headlines, along with commentary, by popular demand:
Next, an announcement, for any readers in the New Haven area (yup—Yale) on Nov. 14—mark your calendar for this!
Bonus for today:

I hate to break it to the lady in the bonus meme, but marijuana is the wrong answer. "Getting stoned" means something very different to a Muslim.
I think we've reached peak strange when a hedonistic music festival/rave gets attacked by violent religious bigots, and the Democrats, the party of hedonistic behavior, support the violent bigots. Upon further reflection, it is likely that things will get even stranger.
"And in the best fashion of Helen Andrews, I ran the episode even though it was Lucretia’s turn on the host rotation calendar."
We, The Patriarchy, are so back.
