The most puzzling thing about Thomas Friedman is that anyone pays attention to him. Hes the Richard Hanania of the Boomer Liberal Fascists.

Tom Friedman has flunked as a futurist, presentist, and pastist. Read his stuff only to gloat or to know what not to do.

Over at your old digs, John Hinderacker is writing about Rahm Emmanuel's "Yeti Cup" democrats. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2025/04/down-with-yeti-cup-democrats.php

I think that perhaps in each case, the commercial brand is/was more popular than the brand of the democrat party.

What is the political branding equivalent of stolen valor? Perhaps it is the lack of identity, or principle, that requires a disguise? Or merely Amerikanski Maskirovka?

Looks like Friedman is really promoting robotics so he can eliminate the vast landscaping crew needed to maintain the estate...

For all his talk of technical revolutions one would have thought he purchased this property from his gains trading Apple, Microsoft and Netscape.

Nah, simpler just to marry an heiress.

I was in college in the 80s but I don't recall the "Atari" Democrats. Must have been busy studying. Or playing Atari.

BTW, "Atari" in Japanese means "chaos". Maybe they should bring back that moniker. Kinda describes where the D's are these days.

Maybe rich, secluded writers should shut up more about things they know nothing about. But apparently there's still a market for this concatenated sludge he excretes at some semi-regular interval, in the same way that eventually, no matter how long you leave them out, *someone* will buy that package of Ho'Ho's that's been on sale since 1968 down at the local supermarket.
